Discover my 6 steps to freedom
Beginning the journey of clearing one’s ‘stuff’, readjusting the ‘inner sat nav’ and becoming more authentic in order to find your true creative voice for any artist or performer can at first appear quite a daunting task. there is a huge amount of information ‘out there’ of varying difficulty and it is confusing as to where to start.
Added to this for most of us, lack of time is the most common reason stopping us from taking that first step towards finding the real you! It is one of the reasons that I am creating an online coaching programme that takes you through a step by step process which you can do at your own speed when ever and where ever you want.
Does that sound awesome? Then if that sounds like something you’d be interested in…stay tuned for more news. In the meantime here are some easy steps to take, which will kick things off. Start gently and notice when you are being hard on yourself and allow time to assimilate and practise the ideas. Remember it takes a little while to adapt and absorb new habits, so be kind to yourself. Here goes…
Begin to notice your self-talk. What are the things you say to yourself. Are they positive, encouraging and of benefit or are they negative, discouraging and of no benefit? Does your self talk empower or dis-empower you? Write down the one’s which are not empowering. These are the one’s you will later want to change.
Be Still and Listen to your Breath. Set aside a few minutes each day to sit and be quiet. Listen to your breath. Allow your mind to settle.
Be Present. Begin to notice when your mind is worrying over past events or projecting that worry into the future. Realise that neither the past or the future exist and that your real power to change is found in the here and the now.
Become aware of your body. Bring your mind back home to your body. Notice how you feel. Are you standing or sitting comfortably, aligned or are you feeling tense. When playing your violin, clarinet or piano what do you feel in your shoulders? If you are dancing are you aware of any tension or areas where you find it difficult to Let Go, restricting your movements and expression?
Visualise. Spend a few minutes in the morning when you first wake up to visualise your goals. This is very powerful. Or maybe whilst practicing your instrument or a particular dance movement, spend a few minutes with your eyes closed, visualise yourself performing and see if it makes a difference! Painters and writers try this too. Visualise what you would like to express on the canvas or page for a few minutes and then let it come out. I love this one. I often visualise and feel the kind of sound or tone that I would like, to express a particular emotion through my violin and then see if what comes out and matches what I have visualised.
Try some Tai Chi. Get my Tai Chi for beginners DVD (available here very soon) follow along with the easy sequence of movements that train the body to move in an effortless and aligned way. Freeing the body and mind from restriction, learning to be present let go, liberating the creative insights and super charging your energy levels.
I hope these 6 Steps will help you to begin your journey to release the inner blocks and discover your true creative voice.
I would love to hear how you are getting on so please send me a message with your news. It would be great to hear from you.
To your success

Very Best Wishes, Liz.
